Traditional Art / Drawings / Macabre & Horror

So Koffee and Komics last week yielded this at the suggestion of

who will be my tag-table-champ for Long Beach Comic Con at table 1906 for those interested.

I was a big fan of The Monster Squad - you know the line, "Wolfman's got NARDS!" Yeah. Big hit with the pre-pubes crowd.

So this week, all before the con and the Halloweenie rushes I want to draw as many of the famed Universal monsters as humanly possible - with of course that twist.

There are a couple of blogs that do this sort of thing regularly I am sure you guys have heard of - two of my favs are Comic Twart and Project: Rooftop.

The latter is additionally interesting in that it is somewhat competitive and offers crits from the members and/or founders. Tough skin time - seriously, they offer interesting comments.

Unofficially this is what Koffee and Komics does, but mostly we use it as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the computer, and out in the public where we can scare the hell out of people. Or, as was the case last week, attract an odd nerdy couple who was celebrating a birthday. Want to know how hardcore Koffee and Komics can be? They asked for a lighter for the candles ... not a single smoker in the bunch. Ooooooooh boy, that's rollin hard baby. HA!
