DA's future
I have been spending progressively less time on DA but a pattern has emerged which makes me think this community needs to alter its course as much as its audience or maybe MY audience has.
It's become obvious most of the traffic I experience here comes from a seasonal audience - summers are high traffic, Spring is moderate, Fall is extremely quite and Winter can vary greatly over the holidays.
Interesting pattern, one that at least indicates regular and predictable long term behavior. Still doesn't make me want to pay for a membership though.
Encoding Bushido is on Comixology
After months in the queue, one of my favorite works is on Comixology. It's a single issue prelude to a story I hope to finish in the future featuring A.I. robot samurai "brothers" trying to make their "father" proud.

No more premium membership
So I decided not to renew my premium membership on DA. The honest truth is that there was just no longer a good reason to put money into something that really hadn't yielded anything other than not seeing ads and some forum access once in a while.
But there are still some benefits to it and if I'm honest the biggest reason I didn't renew it was that it basically became my gym membership - something I am paying for that I rarely use past the basics.
